CCleaner settings after update?

I have updated the CCleaner and wonder if the settings are still the same? My computer specialist told me when I got the laptop that I should leave the settings as it is and not tick any other boxes because it may be that I can no longer boot up the laptop. So I wondered if the settings were the same.

With an update, the settings are usually retained. What brings security is reading the messages during the update process… Oh wonder.
