Are batteries charged more slowly if they are charged at the same time via a 3-way socket strip, e.g. Cell phone 1, cell phone 2 and a laptop?

When I connect my mobile phone with my original charger directly to a 230V socket for charging, I have the feeling that it charges faster than if I connect it to a 3-way socket strip at the same time, e.g. Charge with another cell phone and laptop. Can this be?

Your feelings are deceiving you.

gr

No. That loads immediately.

Definitely can't be. A multiple socket can theoretically deliver up to 16 A at 230V, i.e. Over 3000 watts. Cell phone chargers require only a fraction of the power, e.g. 2 A at 5 V, i.e. 10 watts. Laptops need maybe around 100 W.

If you would connect several large consumers, e.g. An iron, a kettle and a hair dryer at the same time, then the performance does not decrease, but it knocks out the fuse.

Has a name. Call itself self-fulfilling prophecy.
