Which email provider is particularly secure?

Unfortunately I had to find out that my Gmail had been hacked, again… Unfortunately my roommate was also hit here, hope he has not captured anything from my shared laptop. In any case, I'm now uncomfortable with Gmail and therefore my question: which provider is the safest for an email? Where should you switch, especially if you are z. B. Want to operate PayPal or Ebay?

You should rather buy a smart virus protection!

He also pays attention to your emails…

No provider in the world can be held responsible for a weak password.

I recommend that you use one-time, strong passwords and a password manager. Optimal (if given), two-factor authentication. Because there you get no further as an unauthorized person, even if you crack the password.

My passwords, alphanumeric plus special characters as well as upper and lower case, are classified as very secure. But it wasn't my question at all…

I just gave you some advice on what your passwords look like, I don't know ^^

Then there was a security hole elsewhere.

Do you recommend Avast?

It's not bad, I had it for years, but we went to GData, which can be used for two PCs. It costs something, but I think it's also worth it!

Your PC has been taken over, a stranger is now controlling your computer. The only thing that helps is to reinstall the operating system and change all passwords immediately, if you still have access to your accounts.

I would use Linux Mint Cinnamon as the new operating system, so the computer will be safe in the future - according to the BSI, a virus scanner is not required for high-quality operating systems (as stated on the BSI website).

Thanks! Unfortunately, you confirm my fears. I change passwords at least once a month and are recorded in a separate notebook. While we're on the subject of taking over computers, I regularly delete the chronicle including the browser, but recently I watched YouTube and numerous allusions were made in the videos that reflect my surfing behavior surprisingly well. And here I by no means mean the recommendations that can be viewed on youtube, especially since these are private with me, but allusions to newspaper articles or PDFs that I looked at in parallel or before / after. Another indication: I can't log into Instagram on a regular basis, but the data is 100% correct, I can only get back to the Insta account through verification, which is quite annoying. Thank you again, my roommate is luckily more tech-savvy than me.
