Chromecast across multiple rooms?

Following situation before: I haven't tested it yet, but I "think" that this is not possible. So: my home office is on the second floor, so I made myself comfortable in one of my attic rooms. Down in the living room, like many others, I have our Smart TV with a Chromecast. Well, if I go with the laptop in the living room, everything works as usual, but how do I implement it, so that I can also connect from my computer on the top floor to the TV in the living room? How is the range, because it is transmitted over the Wi-Fi (hit me if I'm wrong). Oh yes, I installed a Devolo from the living room of the Fritzbox upstairs where my computer is connected via lan, this also supplies my Wi-Fi in the DG. Can I somehow amplify the Chromecast signal to the DG via the Devolo wlan so that I can stream down from my computer in the WZ?

I know, very complicated written down ^^ Thank you for your help for now.

The way I read it works

https://www.golem.de/news/streaming-google-verpasst-chromecast-einen-ethernet-anschluss-1507-115125.html

and no, you didn't express yourself complicated, would be happy if other people would describe at least 10% here.

and your 150% are exactly as you imagine.

I stream everything over the LAN to the router, which directs it to the TV via Wi-Fi, then calls itself something with media --- my TV reports itself as a media player.

but connecting via LAN means more and better Mbit transmission. That's why I don't know what's really your problem, except that the Wi-Fi signal is rather weak and there are too many packet losses.

If your Devolo does not play a DHCP server itself, the devices should actually be found.

Because, as I said, no DHCP in Devolo, they are in the same network. It makes no difference whether you are connected by cable or Wi-Fi.

lo

If you have it all in the same network, i.e. Your hotspot up in the office does not set up its own new ip area, that will work.

Simply connect to your Wi-Fi at the top of the office… If your devolo "line" is too weak, it will jerk.

A cable connection upwards would be more ideal…

Pl

Cable connection up? Um, Chromecast streams over Wi-Fi. What do you mean

Pl

Why cables? I have my computer via LAN and the diavolo also supplies my cell phone via WLAN at the top of the DG. Chromecast streams over Wi-Fi. What do you mean

mi

Instead of the devolos… They are the weak point… Except for you, the data rate via the devolos is sufficient for all devices you use above

Pl

I know that I can pull a Cat cable upwards ^^ I'm concerned with streaming the Chromecast, which is "only" available over Wi-Fi.

mi

And… Wi-Fi has up there?

Pl

Yes, I wrote yes, but the network is different. Chromecast is connected below to the Fritzbox, above I would be connected to the Devolo network (Wi-Fi). Devolo is not a repeter.

Ab

It is a network. No matter whether you are connected wirelessly or with a cable.

mi

From the beginning…

Below the frit, the connection to the top make devolos (is almost the same as a network cable, only via the power lines) … You write that you now have the devolos LAN and wlan above…

now connect the Chromecast UP with the WLAN above, done…

Where would your problem be now?
