How much GB of RAM is sufficient?

I'm currently using a PC (running Windows 7) with 2 GB RAM. I get along well with that. Now I'm considering getting a laptop (Windows 10). This would have 4 GB of RAM. Is that enough or is it maybe even better compared to my PC?

It depends on what you want to do with it. In general, I would always recommend at least 8GB. Unless you only use it a little for school / work, then 4GB is enough. Do you want to gamble on it, edit videos, design whatever, then any 8GB or more.
