Why does PayPal want my account details again?

I just wanted to order a laptop at euronics.de and selected PayPal as the payment method. Usually, you just have to enter your email + password and it's done.
However, a next window opens where I should add a payment source. I have already deposited my bank account on PayPal, but I didn't think much about it and entered my account details again. Now it says here: "You have already added this bank account to your PayPal account" DAS WEIß ICH! But how can I pay if I don't get any further from this step?

Vlt does not accept Euronics bank account payment and you must provide a credit card. This is sometimes the case with Amazon. I did not have the case of PayPal yet, but there's probably also a limit for security…

This security measure has been coming more and more frequently at PayPal. Almost daily there's the same question as yours here in the forum.

PayPal requests - in addition to the bank account - the input of your credit card. This is a security measure…

to secure the payment (PayPal can't see if there's enough money in your bank account)
to filter out minors who cheated an illegal Paypal account with a fake date of birth.

If you are of legal age and everything is legal with your PayPal account, then you can thank the many underage cheaters for whom PayPal has tightened security measures…

Very easily:

PayPal wants you to deposit a credit card is a new method because too many stupid little children log in there with incorrect data. This allows you to partially filter out the children, because as an adult you can easily get a credit card, sometimes for free.

And no, you can't avoid it, so far it was, now no longer, if you do not want to deposit a credit card, or even can, Paypal has taken care of it for you.

Thank you for your answer. I turned 18 on December 20 and had only created my PayPal account there, but in fact neither I nor my parents have a credit card. So the topic would be done and I still have to do without PayPal. Nevertheless, many thanks and a happy new year!
