I plug my PS4 controller with a normal USB cable into my laptop and then the sound stops. What to do?

Assuming you have Windows 10, click on the speaker symbol in the lower right corner of the system tray, I don't know the PS4 controller, but I would assume that as soon as you plug it in, the audio device changes.
