How can I deactivate my laptop touchpad?

I would like to disable my touchpad, but it doesn't work for me.

I have searched everywhere and it always says:

"Settings" → "Devices" → "Mouse" → "Device Settings"

I don't have the Device Settings option.

All other options did not help either.

Maybe someone can help me here.

Usually there's the function key "FN". It must be activated and then there's a touchpad symbol on the upper keypad at F1-12. Press on it and the touchpad is off.

I have tried all 12 F keys and none of them worked.

Go to Control Panel> Mouse> Device Settings. Click either Activate or Deactivate if you want to deactivate the touchpad. I don't know more sorry.

I don't have the "Device Settings" option.

Okay what windows do you have?

Sh

Windows 10, HP laptop, if that helps

You are looking for a mouse in the search bar (search only). Then you will see "Settings for mouse and touchpad"

Or you simply enter the touchpad and click on. That would of course be easier if that shows up

Many thanks for the help.

When I entered "Touchpad" in the search bar, I was offered "ELAN Touchpad Setting", there I was able to click on the option "Disabled when an external USB mouse is connected" and it is now off.

So go.
