The touchpad on my laptop I had disabled from the beginning, because I prefer to work with the good old mouse. Now suddenly the shutdown does not work anymore. So I went into the settings (windows10)> bluetooth, printer, mouse> touchpad> additional settings> in the window appearing properties of mouse on device setting, put a tick there on Disable the internal pointing device, if an external USB pointing device is connected > Apply> OK. After that, the touchpad is disabled, but only as long as I do not turn off the laptop. As soon as I turned on the next day, the touchpad is active again. How do I get it disabled as long as I like it?
Go with mine with key combination Fn + F8, I think.
Have to see how you are.
Maybe this helps?

But then it is really permanent.
Thanks to all, but unfortunately ALL tips work only during the session, immediately after reboot, the touchpad is active again, even if the check mark in "Disable the internal device" is set.
Then you have a problem with shutting down the computer.
