My grandpa needs a new computer. Not a laptop. He doesn't do much on the PC. He saves his pictures and rarely google something.
Does anyone of you know a PC that is sufficient for these "requirements", which is also cheap. Cheap because it does little on the PC.
Should be enough, depending on how you design cheap.
Assembling is usually the cheapest.
The best thing for your grandpa is an AMD Ryzen 3 and 8 GB RAM.
I would still use a 128 GB SSD and an HDD.
That should meet the requirements quite well
When using it, I see no reason for a Ryzen and 8GB.
A used device would do the same. A C2D from Intel, an FX from AMD.
Or build a system with the latest hardware based on the Athlon 200 GE. Ryzen 3 is over the top. Then rather spend the money on a good power supply or just a nice, quiet case (large fans that rotate slowly).
Can you assemble yourself or do you want a complete system proposed?
I would definitely retrofit a HDD. Of course, the requirements are minimal, but depending on how many and which images it stores, a lot can come together. With my camera, at least 100GB come together in a year, although I rarely come to take pictures.
