I recently had my laptop repaired due to water damage. I think I've read somewhere, however, that after a water damage, even if everything is repaired, the laptop will probably not hold long anyway. Do you know if that's true?
Difficult to say, without knowing what was exchanged.
I do not know, but it was a lot of water inside…
Purely logically I'll sketch 2 possibilities:
The damage was expertly repaired = damaged parts replaced = probably the laptop lasts longer than the original parts due to the new parts.
The damage was inexpert repaired, possibly installed inferior parts, durability probably shorter than in the original condition.
But these are all theoretical assumptions, in practice, you will then see how long the part holds.
