Have to install a new SSD in my laptop, but I want to take all the data from the old (including the Windows files). Only fits in a laptop so only one at a time purely (because 1 slot of course). Since the cloning of the volume does not work, I wonder how to do that.

The SSD has the type M.2

Can't you make an image of your disk (including the operating system) and then install this on the new record? I thought, this option is now, if you want to change the hard drive? There are softwares for that.

Since the cloning of the volume yes so does not work

Not so, but different:

You need a USB adapter for the M.2 SSD, something like this:

But you have to make sure that the adapter fits your SSD.

Tip: use Macrium Reflect Free for cloning, which you can do while running Windows.

If I would clone that on my HDD, what was previously on the HDD on it was yes deleted. That will not do

Do

But on a cheap external hard drive you can clone that. Then expand the old one, put the new one in and then play the clone from the cheap external one.

Maybe it is so, there are in Media Markt for about 4 EURO of Hama a USB card reader. Old SSD stuck in the USB card reader and a USB port on the laptop ein. Now it is possible the new SSD to the front click on the workstation. The USB card reader is displayed as LW, the rest is a breeze.

The second way would be to back up the data from the old SSD to an external FP and transfer it from there to the new SSD.

I will try
