Since I have extremely little storage space on my laptop and therefore could no longer update, I decided to load Fortnite and all other games onto my external hard drive. But as soon as I unplug the cable from my laptop, because I don't want to constantly drag the hard drive with me, and after a while to gamble, the games are shown to me as no longer installed. When I click on the shortcuts on my desktop I always get the message: "Start failed. (Game) is not installed. Error code: LS-0009."
Google times after Epic Games and Trustpilot and let you go through what you can expect because of your problem, in case you want to ask the support for help. If I were in your place I would try to write to the support with the greatest kindness and to avoid any blame or even expression of annoyance.
In my experience it is important that you always connect the hard drive to the same USB slot. There's also the option on Steam or Uplay to "localize" the "installed game". Then you could display the path if this is also possible with Epic Games.
Ok, from now on I will only connect it to the same one. Didn't know that could have any disadvantage. Unfortunately, the function to show the path is not available at Epic Games. I've googled myself.
