Have dealt with Linux in the last few days and would like to switch times. So I downloaded the iso and created a bootable usb stick with the "UNetbootin" program. When I then selected the stick in the boot menu when starting, the laptop booted trz in Windows 10. Can help me jmd would be nice thanks in advance
You probably have to select the stick in legacy mode or it is not really bootable.
What is legacy mode and how do I get into this mode?
What's the name of the laptop? It always depends on the manufacturer and the model. Often you can do this with F2 or you simply select the stick after pressing F12. You have to press both after the BIOS screen can be seen.

In the bios you can usually allow the legacy mode in addition to the UEFI mode. Then the stick for each mode will appear in the boot menu.
I also selected the USB stick in the boot menu but the laptop still boots in Windows
I activated it and switched the laptop off and on. Now it says: no bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key
and even if I put the stick in it does not work and the same message comes
Maybe something went wrong when you first created it… Just create the boot stick again and try again 🤷🏼♂️
One changes in the BIOS - instead of UEFI - Legacy
When I installed my Linux Mint, I also used a stick, there I used a virtual drive to open the Linux Mint file, then shut down my PC and selected the stick in the boot menu instead of my hard drive. And then he booted Linux Mint. But it was a long time ago, I can't tell you anything more precise.
How to do it:
https://linuxmint.com/...xmint.com/ Download the Linux Mint ISO here. I recommend the Cinnamon Edition 64bit.
Flash the Linux Mint ISO onto a USB stick with Rufus https://rufus.ie/. You need an empty formatted USB stick. If you have a UEFI, choose GPT as the partition scheme. Then you can boot the stick in UEFI mode.
Boot the created stick and follow the instructions of the installer. He immediately sets up the WLAN and offers the following installation options: Erase hard drive and install Linux Mint or install Linux Mint next to Windows 10.
With the second installation option, a boot menu is set up in the laptop where you can choose between Windows 10 and Linux Mint if you have Linux Mint installed.
Then your stick is not bootable. As KarlDallaS says, recreated your boot stick.
