So, I get internet via Lankabel. The same Lankabel in a modern laptop brings 4 MB / s. Switched to my desktop PC, the speed is halved to 2 MB / s.
Both systems run with Win10 64bit. The laptop is newer (1.5 years old). My PC is something in the years. The motherboard is a MSI z77 g43a, from the years ~ 2011. (I have never seen the need to exchange my i7 2600k, everything else about the pc is new, except for the ram of course.)
Anti-foursome is from GDATA, but even if that is completely off, it does not change the received bandwidth. Of course, other programs do not work either.
I measured via download in Steam, same game.
Drivers are up to date. I have the Lantreiber for the motherboard even again manually installed - result unchanged.
Well, is it possible that my aged hardware halved my Internet speed? In terms of software, there does not seem to be any problems.
Ungelogen, I plug the cable from the big black box (my PC) in the small black box (The laptop) and from magic hand the Internet is twice as fast. I'm finished with my latein.
Maybe someone is here who knows it.
That happened to me, too, and then it was on the motherboard. I would exchange it.
Could be, Realtek LAN often causes problems.
But then do not buy a new board directly, if you are still satisfied, there are on Amazon relatively cheap LAN to USB or PCI-E Lankarten
Back in the 80's, when I was concerned about speed and looking for a long time, I learned that the internal data bus would always stay at 800MB clock. I should take care of the speed of each module.
For me, the computer or memory speed seems to play a role here. The newer laptop seems to use faster components. I know that memory and CD's mean faster speeds. I would not immediately try a faster board because I have not heard anything about the internal speed.
To improve the speed in the memory or other modules, but please also pay attention to the calculator, because this must centrally control all accesses in the best speed, then the internal speed of the module is no problem.
As for the LAN accesses, I can't answer expertly, because the router is indeed the same device in your tests. From a LAN speed in the computer, I have not heard anything.
I just see, different. Black boxes - died. Router?
