I had just played on my bed with the laptop. (Bed used as desk) and had FPS drops all the time. Then I closed it and noticed while packing that it was hot. So that you burn yourself after a few seconds. Could this have caused any damage? What should I do? And how can I check that?
If it gets too hot, it just slows down or goes out. Heat is always bad, but that moves from months to 20 years over the service life.
So: yes a laptop can get too hot if:
It is being overused and it is not being cooled properly.
Newer models switch off as soon as the core temperature is too high. With older ones, however, the boards can melt through.
Hope it helps.
When using a laptop, you should always make sure that the ventilation slots are not covered. But that happens very quickly when you put it on a bed, so I recommend buying a https://www.amazon.de/...008KZQQ5K/

But if the laptop really gets too hot, it switches itself off. So you don't need to worry about that.
Probably not. As long as you haven't overclocked or otherwise tuned your notebook, you don't have to worry. The most sensitive components regulate themselves down or switch off when the temperature is too high. Hence the FPS drops.
A lot of power = a lot of waste heat. If it can't go (e.g. Because the air inlet and outlet slots are covered) that's not good at all. Always make sure you have enough cooling while gaming. The easiest way to do this is with a notebook table or cushion (google it!).
You ask in the subjunctive. Very beautiful. The answer can only be "yes".
It doesn't mean anything - but that's how it is.
