I mean things like laptops, tablets, cell phones, televisions, etc. Most of the time, new devices are brought to the market seasonally, e.g. For the Christmas season or in the spring. Does anyone know how much time passes between the production and the launch of such products? Will they possibly be stored for a few months near the place of production or at the client? Does anyone know?
Well, the production usually does not take long if nothing comes between. It is produced and then sent to the companies immediately. Mostly there's still a pre-order season, but can't tell you exactly.
Entertainment electronics are mostly produced in Far East (China) and then shipped to Europe.
From production in China to trade, as good as 3 months can pass. Until however possibly the stock is then used up here in Europe can then go again 6-9 more Moante (depending on quantity and demand)
Simple goods such as Christmas lights usually have to be ordered by the importers 9-12 months in advance from the producer in China, so that they can be scheduled accordingly in the production.
About 6 months, the trade ordered the Christmas goods from about June.
