I have a computer and a laptop. I want to set up a home network between the two devices. Does anyone have any idea and can tell me how to set this up (possibly a matching link)?
It is probably easier if you say what you plan, because in the network, the devices are definitely already, since very likely both have a connection to the router for example, the Internet access.
To exchange data / files
The article is about homegroups. But they are no longer in Windows 10. So you have to use "normal" Windows shares.
But then I can only access the other network, if the respective computer is currently turned on, right?
Are there any alternative options?
There you could use a NAS. In the simplest case, it may be enough to connect a USB stick or a USB hard disk to the router.
If you need a better NAS, then take a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/...vODreLEFZN
OK sorry. Not read correctly
If I connect a stick to the router, can I save files from a foreign WLAN to the stick?
If the router supports it and your ISP gives you a real IPv4 address or you use IPv6 as an alternative, then you can access the stick from anywhere in the world.
