Please help. I have to buy a new laptop because of Win 7. I have found that I really want to get enthusiastic about expensive models in the store. I want to read and reply to my post, simple search for information, no games. Who could write me which brand I should look at, my budget: up to 250
There are no good new devices for the money - I would rather look for a refurbished business device. There are all corners (e.g. On ebay).
I use a "Trekstor Primetap T13B-PO" costs about 350 euro but the thing is a 2 in 1 device and can use it as a laptop and tablet… The PO version has a better processor and a fingerprint sensor on the keyboard…
That's enough for school too, but if you want to do more I would spend at least 500 euro or install a MacOS on an old laptop or on the Trekstor laptop, which would also like to do…
Or get yourself a not good laptop for 250 euro because I can't recommend you, because everyone is just not good for the price…
Thanks, how much did I have to invest to buy a new good device?
You will have to buy a used refurbished device.
My son bought a Lenovo for 350 EU, which now cost over 1500 - with guarantee.
At notebooksbilliger there are devices from € 500 that are not complete murks - but mostly only with chipset graphics.
It gets really nice over 1000, - €. You are refurbished at well below € 500.
Sounds interesting
You can still upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free: https://www.chip.de/...05018.html
If you turn off all desktop effects in Windows 10, it will even run faster than Windows 7.
If the upgrade to Windows 10 does not work, you can still install the free operating system Cloudready. Cloudready is a customized Chrome OS that turns any device into a Chromebook. Here is the download: https://www.neverware.com/freedownload You need the USB Maker and an empty formatted USB stick with at least 8GB. Then boot the stick and follow the instructions of the installer. He is setting up the WLAN right away. Have the WLAN key ready. After the installation is complete, the system is restarted. Then the wizard appears where you only have to log in with your Google account. You can install Flash, Codecs and Widevine in the browser settings in the Plugins section with just one click, then you can also use DRM-protected content. Restart again and your Chromebook is ready. All updates run fully automatically in the background.
Cloudready runs extremely fast even on devices over 10 years old. The browser and Chrome apps start without delay. Here is a video of what it looks like: https://www.chip.de/...85452.html
Well, you can get more powerful devices for just 300 euro. For example, devices with an AMD Ryzen 3 3200U. If I saw that correctly now, a Pentium N4200 is built into the Trekstor device. The Ryzen 3 3200U is 47% more powerful in percentage terms. And not everyone needs a touchpad.
You can upgrade to Windows 10 for free by upgrading. The free upgrade was officially discontinued, but it still works with a Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 license.
If your device is not very old and can run Windows 7 with no issues in terms of performance, then there shouldn't be any problems on Windows 10 either. RAM should be installed at least 4 GB. An SSD is also an advantage for a significant speed boost.
It all happens automatically. In the end, you usually have all your data. However, you should still back up your important files on a USB stick or an external hard drive beforehand. With such an upgrade, something can always go wrong.
The Media Creation Tool from Microsoft is available for the upgrade: https://www.microsoft.com/.../windows10
After downloading and opening the program, there's an option to upgrade. Then just follow all the steps here.
However, if it should be a new device, then I always tend to devices from ASUS and Lenovo, as far as the manufacturer is concerned. I also think various models from HP are fine. I would completely advise against it personally from Acer, even if the devices are sometimes a little cheaper compared to other manufacturers.
According to your budget, you're probably just looking for a simple office device, aren't you? I would at least bet on an Intel Core i3 or AMD Ryzen 3. In addition, 8 GB RAM and an SSD, as this also provides a speed boost as mentioned above. For 250 euro it looks bad.
For 310 euro it would look better, for example with this device from Lenovo: https://www.alternate.de/Lenovo/IdeaPad-S145-15API-(81UT00CFGE)-Notebook/html/product/1605341
It is a 15.6-inch device with a full HD display. An AMD Ryzen 3 3200U, 8 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD are installed. In terms of performance, it is completely sufficient if you do not use demanding applications.
An operating system is not available here, but you could e.g. B. Buy Windows 10 Home on MMOGA for 12.99 euro: https://www.mmoga.de/Software/Windows/Windows-10-Home-OEM.html
This would bring you to a total of around 325 euro for everything that is still comparatively cheap for a laptop.
Thank you, I have to read it right there. My 9 year old Sony vaio VGN-FW51MF actually had to cope with the change.
I would like to thank you again, took the time and made the switch to Win 10 and… JUHU! It works.
With pleasure
