When I was on a website, it did not show up at the top where you entered the link on my laptop in red, website!
How so? What should I do?
This just means that this website does not have an SSL certificate. If you know the site, you do not have to worry.
In case you do not know the website, I would advise you not to give any private data!
In general, it can be said that as long as you look at the website and do not give any private data or download things, nothing can happen.
I know that from a few other sites that I'm too often. No problem.
An SSL encrypted website is always protected by a so-called certificate (otherwise access to the server via port 443 (HTTPS) will not work). This so-called certificate, which confirms the authenticity of the provider, must be renewed regularly.
These errors can essentially have 3 causes:
The admin overslept to renew the certificate.
The website has only a self-signed certificate, which is a technical inadequacy of the admins.
The SSL connection is intercepted by a "man in the middle". This can thus read all the data in plain text, so you should actually be careful here with the input of data, ideally omit this completely, until the "lock" above is green again.
