Why can't I import the database?

I urgently need advice on phpAdmin.

Following situation.

I wanted to move my website to a new server with a new webspace package. Of course I have previously gebackuped the website with FileZilla on my computer. Then I saved the corresponding database via phpAdmin (also on my laptop). Then I transferred via FileZilla the website folder on the new server. As far as everything is fine. Now I have to import the corresponding database into the new one. But that does not work at all. Have already changed the database infos in the website folder at FileZilla under wp-config.php. Just do not keep on going and need the website again urgently. Or could it be something else?

Why can t I import the database

The new provider has different names for its databases. But that does not matter. You would have to be able to import the old data in the new DB. And in your CMS you have to enter the connection data so that the homepage can access it.

The MySQL dump file tries to create a DB. However, only the tables and the data should be imported into the beatehende DB. Or am I wrong?

I mean to have had a similar problem. I think I opened the dump file with Notepad ++ and copied all entries except Create DB into the clipboard. In the DB tool, I opened a query and copied it in and started.

Unfortunately, I have to tell you that I continue to be a layman in matter. Do I have to do that in PhpmyAdmi?

Em

Yes. Install Notepad ++ on your PC. Then open the dump file in it. Then mark everything except create DB and copy it. (STG C) Then you go into PppMyAdmin and open there a query and copy the data in there. (CTRL V) Then start the query.

I'll give it a try

Now comes the error message "no database selected" although I actually selected it

Did you do it?

Ca

That's right.
