The following problem: I have a laptop that I haven't really used in about 8 years. When I opened it again because I urgently need it, it asks me for a user password. I have already read that you can open this password using OpenKey programs via CD and USB stick, but unfortunately I'm currently unable to do so because I do not have a second PC. So I wondered if I could somehow reset the PC, the data on the PC are not so important to me. Does anyone know a way?
If it is the Win-PW and you don't need the old data: install a new Windows after starting from CD.
Insert the Windows CD, boot from the CD, completely erase the hard disk, reinstall Windows, reinstall and set up all drivers and programs.
Note:
You should write down all your passwords in a notebook so that they are still available at any time (even after years or if the devices suddenly fail).
And: what is in a notebook can't be hacked or spied on the computer.
