Does it help to reset the laptop but keep your own files?

I'm considering resetting my Medion Akio laptop in the hope that it will speed up. But I would leave my own files. Do you think it works?

Will probably be a Celeron / Pentium notebook. Since resetting Windows will no longer help you

Resetting makes the laptop faster because all the "garbage" is removed from the hard drives, so you should only keep important data

How old is the laptop or when was the last time it was set up? Is an SSD built into the laptop? If not, then I would definitely install an SSD.

Approximately 6 years, Intel Pentium 2.2 GHz integrated graphics card

If the have not been re-set for 6 years, then resetting can definitely make the laptop faster. But if no SSD is installed, I would also install one.
