How can I save my data. (HP laptop)?

I suggest reading all those who are familiar with laptops. I LOVE YOU TO BITTE 😭

On my "HP" brand laptop, I reset my laptop by going to "Settings" and then "Security." But I went to reset without loss of data. I assumed that ONLY settings are reset to the origin. After several hours loading time of 1% -100%, I was able to log in. However, then came a black side where only the trash was there and I could not click with the mouse. Not the net sign down right (to enter Wi-Fi) and also not start. Then I turned it off again (out of panic and hope that my files are still there!).

When I turned it on again came:

"Changes are reversed" with a load sign.

I had no idea what that meant and since it took me too long I forced a shutdown (by holding the power off button for a long time) when I turned it back on the "select option" page it is blue and I can handle it decide to continue "Use a device" "Other operating system" "Troubleshoot" "Turn off PC".

So if I go to troubleshooting now and then to advanced options, I can Select Resume (exit and continue with Windows Recovery Environment), Use a device, Other operating system (Continue with a different version of Windows installed), Troubleshoot, or Turn off PC.

Now, if I go to troubleshooting I can go to "Restore System" but when I do that, it says there are no recovery points created on the computer's system drive. When I go to "System Image Recovery", there's no system image found on the computer. You can also troubleshoot on Startup Help, Command Prompt, Return to the previous version and UEFI Firmwareeibstellung…

DOES WHO KNOW? YOU'RE WELCOME!

By the way: I was so stupid and did the reset at all because Google did not go. When I read on the internet that it may be due to settings that prevent the page from opening, I thought I'd just reset all the settings (it was most likely due to Avast I knew that, but somehow I did not manage to reset it!)

If someone has a solution, please also say how long the loading takes, because I have to TODAY to my Open Office documents must (still live that?) 😭😭😭😭

You take a Linux live CD like Knoppix and start your computer on this live CD.

You can determine with this live CD if your data is still there and if necessary rescue.

I do not have a CD at home and no other laptop accessories. Are there no other ways? (For example, the listed points that are currently displayed to me.) Have only one stick.

Ev

You can start a repair installation via the Windows stick, you have to make sure that the disk is not formatted. Otherwise everything is irretrievably gone.

Have no windows stick. Only a normal 🙁 am probably lost

Ev

You need a Windows installation media, either a DVD or a USB stick

I have to say that I really liked your style of writing. Turned from howling into a smile: 'D You're right: you only notice a lot when it's too late.

I brought it to the PC specialist today, I was just too desperate and on the fly and so spontaneously no one from my environment could help me. That with the documents is stupid (very stupid) but well, now I have to wait just a few days. Will somehow.

Nevertheless thanks for the help!

Thank you for the compliment. I have not heard that yet, but I'm glad that I could cheer you up a bit.
Is probably the best solution. In its current state, saving your data is child's play and does not take a long time. If the hard drive is bent, it can take a few hours or even days.
Buy an external hard drive or a USB stick. Then you can back up your data once a day / week / month. The more often the better, but also a backup one month old is better than none.
There are also programs that do this automatically. Have found the fast https://www.netzwelt.de/...chern.html, which looks quite suitable at first glance.
Even better would be a small HomeServer, which does it automatically. Are there different solutions, but probably a bit too expensive or exaggerated. Quite simply and cheaply can do that with a Raspberry Pi. But requires initiative to deal with Linux and servers a bit.

An external hard drive is there since I think more suitable. You just can't forget it.
