For a few days I have new laptop with Windows 10. Today I tried "Movie Maker", which I very much… I'm glad to install - unfortunately without success. On page "Chip" and "Computerbild" I downloaded "Movie Maker 2012" as well as "Windows Essentials 2012", but when I press on Install, there's a Qlick and everything disappears without a trace… I also tried the old computer (with windows 7) program to transfer, unfortunately also without success. What am I doing wrong? Lt. My research should run this program on Windows 10, but why not with me? I'm very grateful for your help. Mirot
Windows Essentials 2012 will no longer be available for download by Microsoft. Instead, Microsoft offers the photo app on W10, which can also video editing.
Microsoft advises against downloading the essentials from third-party vendors, as they may contain malicious software.
Hard to say. I have now installed MV2012 test mode and it works wonderfully. Setup as administrator started and installed?
Under Start it is found under "Movie Maker"… Since already looked?

About "Setup as an administrator", I'll be smart, maybe there was the "worm". I'm new to "W10" and could be that I did something wrong.
In future, use a different source for problems. Speak somewhere else and try to renew it. Sometimes setups are broken.
