When I start my notebook, the fan goes on and gets very loud and after about 2 minutes it goes off again by itself. What can it be?

In the case of less powerful or older laptops, it can be the case that many programs are installed that have to be loaded in the autostart when the PC boots up, which means that the PC takes longer to load all programs and that in turn demands performance and thus it can be that the fan turns up strongly and then stops turning at the end of booting. If the fan is still dirty (which is more common with older notebooks) this reduces the cooling performance and the fan has to turn faster. Maybe it just gets too hot.
