I have a laptop that has 2 USB ports and one HDMI port.
So I connected my laptop as a monitor and a second monitor via HDMI, which was no problem. But now I would like to connect a third monitor that only has a VGA connection, which is not bad in itself, since I have an adapter to HDMI.
But how can I connect it to the laptop? Which adapter do I need for this?
I've tried an HDMI splitter, but it can only duplicate the screen, not expand it.
Does anyone have any suggestion or link of an adapter for me?
There's an adapter USB to HDMI, then HDMI to VGA. But it should be USB 3.0 (not 2.0).
The only problem is: then your laptop only has one usable USB port, which is really little… A USB hub is also needed
I would say that is not possible. If the laptop has USB3, you can try a docking station.
So should it work if I have both adapters at the same time?
A USB port should be enough. Is only for university.
Something like that: https://www.amazon.de/...088BSNWVQ/
maybe there's one directly on VGA… But that's normal today. Maybe find a cheap old one with USB to VGA.
Super thank you. I'll try that.
How do I know if the USB3 has or not?
I think that would be the missing one; HDMI to VGA: https://www.amazon.de/...06WW88TRY/
but I'm not sure --- check gender on the monitor to see if it's true, otherwise gender changer
These simple USB-HDMI adapters actually only work with a MAC and not with a PC - you need a docking station.
USB3 sockets have a blue plastic part inside.
