What is my PC doing?

Have shut down my laptop 2 hours ago and jez comes this message? What happened, what should I do?

He can't find any OS or your hard drive. If there's an operating system on it look in the BIOS if there the disk is recognized. If so, google how to fix the MBR. Otherwise it seems a mistake in your (I assume Windows) to give. If nothing works to get it working again, take a Linux CD for data recovery and an external hard drive. Then reinstall windows.

I turned off something in the bio. Saved restarted and turned on again and miraculously it worked again 😅
