Forgot pattern now?

I have the following problem: I change the pattern of my cell phone (xiaomi mia2) from time to time (every 2 months) because my sister likes to sniff at me. In any case, I went to bed the day before yesterday before going to bed and then entered my new pattern several times in succession so that I could memorize it. The next morning, however, it was out of my head and I didn't know what to do next. So I googled and then tried to use my Google account to lock my laptop from the screen, as many recommended. Didn't work.

Then I tried the Xiaomi Tool program as it was recommended in a forum hoping it would work now. Didn't work.

so i took out my sim card and went to delete device data in google account for the device. DIDN'T.

I'm getting really desperate… Hope for quick, working answers and thank you in advance.

I guess you'd like to keep the data on the device.

In this case, as far as I know, it would be advisable to consult an expert in the specialist trade. (@Community: correct me if I'm wrong ^^)

I myself am already stuck in your skin and found myself in exactly this situation.

What do we idiots have to change our pattern exactly before going to sleep, wa? ^^

Tip for the future: If you really want to change your pattern, make a note somewhere of what your pattern looks like. (yes, also during the day) ^^

Just in case.

Side note: The pattern of your smartphone is not directly correlated with the data in your Google account.

Unfortunately, these attempts were a waste of time.

In the event that you are just as frustrated as I was when this little mishap happened to me, a so-called "hard reset" is recommended.

You can use key combinations on your mobile phone to go to a menu in which you can reset your smartphone without losing any personal data.

My tip for next time: leave the stuff on your Google Account exactly as it is, you can still use it to save as much data as possible when you set it up again…

Instructions for hard reset can be found here:

I wish you the best of luck and that you can restore all the photos and files that have become dear to your heart or, in the worst case, can conclude with their loss.

A little tip on my part: Start saving and organizing your pictures on Google Photos.

And by organizing I don't just create albums and folders. First of all, I mean to delete everything you don't really need!

You hear it far too rarely, but too many photos mean that you can no longer find the good and meaningful ones so quickly, and even worse - do not feel like it because there's so much garbage in your gallery.

At least that's how I feel and I'm still working on it… ^^

One drive is also a great service to back up files.

I would appreciate feedback, of course, whether I could help you and what happened later.

First of all a huge thank you for your detailed answer. I tried the instructions described in the link and the first two or three times was just a green android male with the font 'no command'. When I tried it, the menu was displayed, but I still had my SIM card in my cell phone. But I was in good spirits that if I turned it off, Sim out and tried again, it would work. But I've definitely tried it 15 times now, also varied with the buttons, but it always happens the same as at the beginning: '(I now put the SIM card back in, hoping it works without my cell phone number ect. To delete… But thanks.

Tried it with Sim- does not work: '

I take a quick look at it as far as possible, but I can give the all-clear: the SIM card has nothing to do with anything, so you can leave it where it is. ^^

Or did you mean SD card?

I honestly don't know what it looks like.

It is quite possible that possible data on the SD card would also be removed, albeit unlikely.

Jo ok, I just watched a video about it.

After "No Command" appears, you simply have to press the power button + volume up again briefly, then you should come to such a selection menu.

Then simply navigate louder / quieter with the volume and select the desired action with the power button.

As soon as you get into the menu, simply select "wipe data / factory reset" and confirm with the power button.

Then select "Yes" and after a few seconds the menu should appear again.

Then you can simply select the first option "reboot system now" and confirm again with the power button.

Then your smartphone should actually boot up and all the fun can begin! ^^

It will definitely take a while until everything is as it was before.

And a huge "Please do" from my side. Glad if I can help. ^^
