I plan to install Tails on my laptop. Does anyone know of a trustworthy program for installing Tails from Windows on a different hard drive partition?
This is not possible from Windows. Windows would have to e.g. Use Linux file systems and run Linux programs. In Windows, you can use Disk Management to shrink a partition on one of your hard drives in order to obtain free and unpartitioned space. Then boot Linux from a bootable medium and let it install. Select the free space on the hard disk. Linux then creates the required partitions with the necessary file systems there. Then Linux can be installed in the newly created Linux partitions. Or you use a VM such as VirtualBox and installs Linux in it, which would be ideal for initial tests and attempts to walk with Linux. This means you at least don't destroy the rest of your system if you do something wrong and you can reinstall Linux there as often as you want without affecting the rest of your system.
