Log off Origin?

I'll get a new laptop soon and I've read somewhere that I need to log out of Origin on my old PC first. Only somehow it does not work. What could that be?

You do not have to log out when you sign up, if ever asked by origin if you want to log out automatically from your other computer.

No, you do not have to.

Being logged on to 2 devices at the same time is not possible. But Origin would have to run on both PCs at the same time. In addition, Origin then asks anyway whether it should log you off on the other PC.
