Why is Youtube so slow on mobile?

While I can watch videos in 4K on my laptop without any buffers, I can often watch videos in at most 480p with the mobile phone, as it loads continuously at 720p / 720p60 / 1080p / 1080p60. With my cell phone, I'm even closer to the router.

It's very strange, sometimes 720p works very well, sometimes just 480p.

PS: I always make sure that I don't download anything in the background when I watch YT.

What kind of cell phone do you have? (for me it's more like the other way around haha)

Have you ever tried to load YouTube videos via your internet browser?

If that works better, then it may be due to the app.

Maybe had the same problem. The image went flickering and white, and the browser was loading and loading.

Try to delete the browser data in the application manager. It works again for me. Can watch 1080p videos without jerking and reloading. I have a Samsung S5 Neo.

Attention bookmarks are then also deleted, but since I only had two anyway, not so bad.

Maybe it is enough to simply delete the cache memory there…
