When i bought my laptop it came with windows 10. I need windows 7 or xp for a file. How can I switch from Windows 10 to Windows 7?
Do you have a large hard drive?
Then you could create a partition and drag Win 7 onto it. I did it many years ago (of course with other versions).
What kind of file do you need that for?
Have you tried the compatibility mode while running the file?
Did you deal with shwwos emulators?
A file, not a program? If it's a file, there's bound to be a compatible program on Windows 10. What is it about?
You need a license for Win7 or XP and you would either have to install it as a second operating system or delete Win10 … It may also be that there are no drivers for older operating systems and you can't use it fully (apart from the security aspect)
I advise a VM… You run a virtual machine within Win10. This is the most common way to keep the operating system that is no longer secure… You still need a license for the desired operating system.
