The power adapter that I currently use for my laptop has 19V and 90W.
The power supply currently zickt something rum, I do not know whether it is on the power supply or the power input on the laptop.
I have another power supply with 19V and 65W, so the same voltage, but lower power.
Can I use it for this or how does it work if it has a lower wattage?
To test it is OK, as long as you only want to look for the error. Only a longer time deducting power, that could go wrong, because possibly the battery is not charged or the power supply is overloaded.
If the cause of the error is only the hollow plug of the power supply, then you can change this with some skill itself. Material value: 1-2 euro.

-> no
More is better. If you had a power supply that has more than 90 watts at the voltage you need, that would be no problem.
Generally one should always procure a power supply ds has more power than the attached. The attached models are always tight and are often very warm almost hot. If you take a stronger one, it will be less warm / hot under load and will last longer. On my old sony crutch (Green Poison Dwarf, Sony Vaio VPCCA) I had a power supply with 19 volts at 4.74 A. This was broken shortly after the warranty. At the flea market I found a suitable one with 7.74 A at the same voltage (19 volts), was a little bigger and chunkier, I did not care. Bought for 5 euro. Plug did not fit, so the big blue C (if the people do not know it, that's what Conrad meant) bought bassenden plug. Original plug on the power supply Cut off, soldered to fit and since that works on my laptop without interference. I have the power adapter for at least 5 years. The laptop should already be 8 years old, works flawlessly
The question is: what kind of power adapter does your laptop need? You have not written if this 90W is the original PSU or has ever been changed. At the bottom of the laptop you will almost always find information about which power adapter is compatible with Notebook.
To decide if the error is s. Netzbuchse or to power supply / plug, if the other power supply from the other plug fits you can test it. The best without a battery, if so the notebook goes out when moving the power plug, the error is due to power jack.
Is the original power supply.
