I allowed myself a new notebook. There also fresh Windows 10 installed with all updates. Really fast.
But now I noticed that when the energy options in the profile "Balanced" is set, I can adjust a slider between "longest battery life" and "best performance" gradually by clicking on the battery icon.
Question: Does "best performance" now correspond to the energy profile "maximum performance" (which I can also create)? Or is "maximum performance" (where I have no slider to slide after clicking on the battery icon) again more power?
The preconfigured Windows power plans typically serve the book's two types of status on battery, or in power supply mode.
For books with preinstalled Windows, 1-2 optimized energy-saving profiles from the notebook manufacturer can also be included in the list. If possible, choose the predefined ESP of the notebook manufacturer, if available.
Otherwise, Windows' "maximum performance" would also be the maximum power state, at least in network operation.
You can see the settings of the individual ESP profiles in the advanced settings for power / battery operation, if required.
