Frosty laptop condenses - a threat to technology?

I just got a new laptop from the post office, which is understandably freezing due to the temperatures outside and is starting to condense in the apartment.

Can this damage the inner workings? So the display is noticeably wet when you slide your finger over it.

Just let it acclimate for a long time. Then nothing happens.

You should not turn on the device (ideally remove the battery) until it has reached room temperature and has stood there for a sufficient time.

Condensation can cause short circuits.
