I wanted to connect the laptop to the power, as I already did for four years (with original power supply / cable). But just flew the fuse when plugging out. Have them cleaned up again and if I now connect the laptop, nothing loads. Also other sockets.
I can't really remember a sound, maybe it cracked. I do not smell anything either.
Is the power adapter of the laptop broken or something worse? The cable consists of the cable into the socket, which is plugged into a box (AC adapter), from which the cable leads to the laptop.
Presumably the power supply is defective.
Definitely check if the power line has a wire break. With defective insulation there's danger to life.
Otherwise, the power supply will be defective.
Mostly there are external power supplies for the laptops, and they either have around 14 volts or around 18-20 volts.
So it can be on the power supply itself, or on the connector of the laptop for the plug. Sometimes these connectors are out of contact.
Or an internal voltage regulator has failed internally, then a repair becomes more complex, more difficult.
Get a multimeter, measure the output voltage of the power supply and if the shake proof (cable wobble) is present, the problem is in the laptop and is either the plug, or a voltage regulator.
