Laptop permanently on the charging cable?

Can the laptop be damaged in any way if it is permanently connected to the charging cable?

Br

Can cause overheating and your battery can break

ra

No usually not. You should just be careful not to overheat it.

Fe

The battery wears out faster - until the laptop can only be used with the charging cable. So yes, it's harmful.

Le

I only do it in principle, but the battery is also removed from me.

it is only used when the lappi becomes mobile.

Le

Overheating is nonsense, but the battery is not good for it

Br

My laptop was always overheated when it was too long on the battery, but it can also be due to my laptop

Le

Lappies do not overheat because the charging cable is on… Mostly they are completely different causes.

so e.g. Closing the ventilation by using on blankets or in bed

Ar

I suspect this rather… Curious question: which model?

Le

I guess an hp lappi:-)

Ar

It is not ideal because the charging control switches to "maintenance mode", but it is not good in the long run. If you can't take out the battery, which is unfortunately the case with many new devices, just plug it out every now and then and use the device until it asks for charging.

If you also play with the device (not just solitaire), it should be on the network due to its performance.

Ar

But then the "cheap" series, have a Compaq (ie the old business series) and it also works hard in the sun / partial shade cold ^^

However, maintenance also plays a role.

Le

A compaq is an hp lol

Ar

Joke biscuits… Of course I know that if the pavilion or similar problems. Had problems with my never before. Not even when working in areas where it was "a little" warmer. But I wait for my devices accordingly, may be due to it (my gamer only gets ~ 75 ° C warm under load).
