Notebook, because things are called that everywhere in our systems. Before I started working in the help desk, I always said laptop.

There used to be a difference.

Laptops were the first, heavier devices that you actually had on your lap.

Notebooks came later and were lighter. Notebook means notebook or writing pad in English.

That changes pretty much every three years. In the past people used to say laptops, then notebooks were everywhere, now laptops seem to be back in.

I keep getting confused with the articles and then say "the laptop" and "the notebook". Totally confusing. Well, people know what is meant.
