RESET Trojans on Laptop

Windows Defender discovered a trojan in me. I quarantined it and then deleted it, but I want to be on the safe side and reset my laptop. If I reset it, can I be sure that it is gone? And should I change all passwords?

li

You can only be completely sure if you completely delete the contents of your hard drive (s) and overwrite them several times and thus reinstall Windows. If it was really a Trojan, that's enough. If one was a rootkit, you would have to replace the mainboard or the memory for the BIOS / UEFI.

However, it is rather unlikely that these measures are really necessary. Usually it is enough to delete all infected files. Only in rare cases do you have to take the measures described in the case of a Trojan.

Resetting Windows can also be useful, but Windows will be restored from existing files. If these are infected you will have the same problem afterwards.

Changing all passwords is definitely a good idea.

It's a trojan because I'm on the bs. You already know it was. How do you rate it?

li

Is Windows Defender just saying the site is dangerous or did you download something Windows Defender found infected?

Ic

Resetting can be too little. The best thing to do is format the hard disk (s) and reinstall everything.

Take a look at my last question for please, this message that is there, I had a total of 3 times, I did this detailed scan

li

Clear browser cache and do another deep scan. You should also make a backup of important files (generally at regular intervals). If there are no more abnormalities, everything is most likely all right again.

In general, you should think about getting a separate antivirus program with real-time protection.

If you delete it, the file in question is gone, quarantined and done.

De

Which one can you recommend?

So don't reset?

De

What do you mean by him

Ro

Well, the Trojan, what else was it talking about?

De

OK. I already performed a scan earlier and it found the sepbe file 3 times. In front of my question there's a screenshot, it would be nice if you could take a look at it. Right now I'm doing a Windows Defender offline "scan", and earlier I put all 3 files in quarantine and then deleted them. Should you do anything else and do you think it makes sense to reset the laptop? And if so, what should I pay attention to?

It depends on which functions exactly you need and want and also what you are willing to pay. I personally use Malwarebytes Premium. It is best to do your own research to find out which options are suitable for you. One can't generally say that one program is better than any other, as each program has its advantages and disadvantages.
