I'm looking for a laptop for the office (reading mail, occasionally solitaire or similar).
The laptop should be delivered with Windows 10, and should also withstand Windows 10 in terms of performance.
It would also not be bad if you could upgrade the RAM, for example, and upgrade the SSD afterwards.
If desired, a 128GB SSD should be installed.
Otherwise, the display size is relatively irrelevant, maybe not too small, because the person has some vision problems.
Price as said at best 250, maximum 300 euro.
Should the computer be thick, thin? Or should it look modern?
It doesn't really matter, but it doesn't have to be more modern than 2mm. So normal thickness.
The processor is damn weak.

This notebook is suitable for everyday use and can be used with office. It looks extremely modern (for the price). The reviews do not give a bad impression either. An Intel Celeron is installed, which is sufficient for surfing, small games and also office. The SSD can also be replaced. Unfortunately, the brand is not a high-end manufacturer.
You definitely won't be happy with a Celeron N3350. For 300 euro or a little more you can usually get a Ryzen 3 3200U. Percentage more than 100% more efficient: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/...4vsm771805
At the moment it is difficult to find suitable devices. There's also no SSD and with Windows 10 I would use more RAM.
It is certainly not enough for surfing and small games. Unless you don't mind that everything is hanging every few seconds.
Does it have to be a new device or can a used and / or refurbished notebook be considered as a purchase option? If so, there are some models you can take a look at.

I now own six ThinkPads myself, including several models from the T420 series. For me it is still one of the best notebooks ever built. The links will take you to a dealer with a guarantee. If you want to get away much cheaper, look in the bay and in the classified ads. I paid around 100 euro for each of my ThinkPads. Then 30 euro for a new battery and 15 euro for an SSD / HDD caddy.
Everything on the T420 is basically interchangeable and an upgrade from RAM or hard disk is done in no time. With the last ModBios, the main board eats up to 16 GB of RAM (8 GB at the factory) and the whitelist is removed. Another (better) WLAN card can then be installed. The DVD burner can be easily replaced with another HDD or SSD in one easy step. As the icing on the cake, the last model with a classic IBM keyboard. : - *
Can also be completely overhauled, yes.
I just checked again and found that they only have one of them. I have now selected the direct successor for you. Say a slightly newer model.

Unfortunately it is too expensive.
I have now not looked directly on the dealer websites but on eBay. There you can get the T420s for 215 euro.

With the offer, however, you do not have a new battery, an HDD instead of an SSD and you would have to upgrade to Windows 10 yourself. But that would be free. Buy an SSD for ~ 40 euro, a new battery for ~ 30 euro and you're done.
The model is still in demand and dealers are happy to strike hard. If you are not so tech-savvy, I don't want to link anything wrong with you. Here is still an offer from private, which I have just found.
Well, I'm not that tech-savvy.
I could upgrade to Windows 10, but also change the battery, but I would need help to find out which battery is the right one, etc.
The laptop should be for my grandpa.
Thanks for the feedback.
What should I report back to you?
Okay, I would like to add you as a friend to make it easier.
Are you offended now because I wrote to him instead of you?
I'm certainly not a thankless questioner.
Curb your tongue.
Do you think I have to thank every answerer?
No problem, you are welcome to do that.
If I can help, I'm happy to help.
I already have.
Of course not. In my opinion, it only sounds so, unless an answer is completely wrong, then of course you can do without it. And a push of a button is really not too much to ask. It's not about collecting thank you, it's about the principle. I expect any reaction, I don't care whether it's helpful, thank you or a comment.
I used to do that too, but then I didn't get a helpful or similar answer myself. I'm sorry that I have deeply disappointed you, and I'm very grateful for your answer and help.
2.4 GHz is sufficient for office programs, but small games also work.
Here is additional. The top review:
I bought the laptop as a slim second device in case something happens to the big laptop. I'm so enthusiastic about this device that my old one is hardly in use. I mainly use it for Office and one or two YouTube videos. It is super easy to take to university, is light, quiet and even typing on the keyboard is pleasant - apart from the fact that it looks really valuable due to the casing and not like a cheap Apple copy. So far - after a short use - I'm completely satisfied and make an absolute purchase recommendation.
You can't follow the GHz.
I don't follow recessions like this.
Then I can't help you either. I'm satisfied with my computer and I hope that the questioner will also be satisfied with his computer.
