Hallo,
So for a couple of days I have had the problem that when I connect my laptop to the Wi-Fi, the internet becomes abnormally slow for all devices.
Before I have e.g. 13-50 mbps, and then only 2 or sometimes so little that I can't even do the Internet Speed test.
Does anyone know what that could be? : /
Maybe the laptops update a lot or something?
Yes, the laptop uses the rest of the available bandwidth of your internet connection.
There can be many reasons for this (positive and negative): from updates that are loaded in the background to a virus that distributes SPAM emails in the background.
I have just looked in the task manager, which programs "use" how much Internet. And not a single program is active at the moment, that is to say "0 Mbit / s" for all of them. That probably means that there are no background updates, right? : /
Hmm.
Did you click the "More Details" button in the program list at the bottom of the TaskManager so that you can also see all background processes, not just the user programs you started?
Have you checked the tab in TaskManager where you can see the network throughput? Is it really this computer that creates the network load?
1. Yes I have.
2. Don't know exactly what you mean o
OK, which Windows do you have?
If it is Windows 10, then you have to click a button in the TaskManager below (something like "more details" or something) so that you can even see the programs running in the background from Windows itself. Otherwise you only see the applications you started yourself, such as Word, Excel, the web browser etc.
And then: The TaskManager has several tabs. On one you can see different graphics, including the network throughput (i.e. How much data runs over the LAN or WLAN). Does it show that the computer is generating the entire network load?
