Connect PS4 controller to laptop and play GTA V?

I have a question, how do you make it possible to play with the controller on the laptop GTA V. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I tried a cable first, but nothing happens when I connect the two devices together. After that I tried Bluethooth, but there's no response either. After that I downloaded a program called InputMapper, but nothing happens even when I open the program and press the Playstation button several times. I have Windows 10. Can someone help me and tell me what I'm doing wrong or write another way. Thank you. (Please list as detailed as possible what I have to do;)) It can't be the controller.
