How can I play with my controller on the Gta 5 laptop?

I have been playing on the Ps4 Gta 5 for a long time and now have the latest Gta on the laptop but would like to play on it with my controller because it would be easier for me. If I attach my controller to the laptop with a cable, it doesn't work. Does anyone know how I can play with the controller on it now?
