Hard drive is getting hot?

I recently got a hard drive installed because the old one was no longer working, the new one is getting really hot and even my laptop has just switched itself off do you think it has to do with it and if so what can you do about it?

It would be good to know your system and which temp is "totally hot" for you

How do you know it's the hard drive? Did you measure?

Hard disks are usually Warm, but definitely not hot
