Notebook for Linux (arch, i3)?

I'm looking for a notebook to work. OS becomes arch linux and the notebook should be as problem-free and without restrictions usable.

Previous consideration is a ThinkPad. Possibly. Also a used t460 | 70 | 80 or a more compact x220 | 30. But can the performance of older devices bad estimate.

Application: Software development, documentation, VM's (several at the same time for network simulation)

are the ThinkPads suitable for this or another series?

Yes the ThinkPads are extremely well suited for Linux (especially for Arch). I would recommend the x220 LG Amy

Since I can tell you the https://stationx.rocks/products/manjaro-special-edition-spitfire to the heart.

Alternatively, of course, a device from Tuxedo Computers.

Of course you are on the safe side with Lenovo or even Dell. Is probably synonymous cheaper.
