I want to reset my laptop. Pre-installed Windows 7 and already found the license key on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop. However, I'm not sure because of the wear and tear if I could decipher everything correctly.
I do not want to rebuild the laptop if I do not know if I can reinstall the operating system afterwards. Is there a way to get the key from the laptop itself or the one I have to verify.
PS: I've already tried it on the Windows side, but I've been told that many pre-installed Windows 7 keys are not recognized as correct.
Just upgrade to Win 10.
Hi
There are several programs that can show you the key.
In general, the firmly affixed product key to your laptop also belongs to it, if you have not made major hardware changes on your laptop there are no activation issues.
Thanks for the tip, but I would still like to put it on again and must first reinstall windows 7 and only then can I do the upgrade, right?
I have downloaded the program pass fab product key recovery, but this shows the key only for a fee. Do you know a free one?
I have made no hardware change, I just can't decipher the key properly because the sticker is already so worn out.
With the Windows 7 key, you would have to be able to install Windows 10 directly - at least I did that a few months ago.
Has also been activated by MS immediately.
But I do not have the windows 7 key.

Thought Win 7 is still running, so you can just do the upgrade. If Win 10 is activated, you do not need a key to reinstall Win 10 on this computer.
