I wanted to give an old laptop (Medion Akoya P6512) that had been unused in the attic for more than 4 years another chance. This dust and the weather conditions were there because our attic is old and hardly insulated.
Now this no longer shows a reasonable picture. At first it was a screen flickering. Then there was discoloration every now and then; so the screen changed colors. I switched it off first. After switching on again there was only a black picture, which then turned white, then black again. Windows booted normally because I heard the sound. Tried to connect a monitor, but it didn't display an image. Although I couldn't see anything on the laptop, I tried using Ctrl + P to project an image onto the monitor. It was of no use.
Then I would tap that the graphics card passed the spoon.
Possible resuscitation measures? Or is it too late?
If the graphics module is housed on its own circuit board (occurs very rarely) and you can find a used one on Ebay, it could be possible to exchange it. Otherwise, the laptop can still be used (install RAM elsewhere or tick). If a larger hard drive is installed, you can still use it in an enclosure as an external one.
