I got the laptop for free. He had Vista on it before that I have now upgraded to Windows 10pro. Now he was slow before that, unfortunately he is now too. What hardware could I add to make it run smoother? (Increase RAM, graphics card, motherboard, replace hard drive)
The easiest would be to install an SSD.
You can add more ram
an SSD will accelerate the system enormously
set up windows 10
Thank you and which one? 😅😅
You have to know, it's all a question of price. There are many online tests.
Logically design 2.5 ", considering the age the drive will have a SATA interface. I like to install SSDs from Crucial on such old devices (BX or MX series, depends on the application).
Which component? And does anyone know exactly what this model is? And can I recommend suitable articles? ☺️
I just need a smooth running laptop to go and study. Would bx or mx be better

Since you only want a laptop that runs smoothly, a bx should also be enough for you, they are usually a little cheaper. You should (if you have agreed on a memory size) but also e.g. Look for the corresponding model of the mx series because sometimes the prices are only slightly apart. Then the 3 or 4 euro are more worthwhile.
Are they also available with 1TB?
I have now bought a crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 "7mm (9.5mm adapter) internal SSD… Hope that's the right one 😅
Choose one.
You get along well with it, the MX series is very good and if the device does reach the spoon at some point (in the distant future, I hope), you can simply remove it and use it elsewhere.
