I have a small laptop from 2002 with windows xp and wanted to ask whether it is possible to run youtube under this system and if so, how? I've already researched and tried a lot but it always fails because of something else and with tor browser the videos hang massively, I would p
look forward to answers
Why does it hang?
YouTube isn't like it was 10 years ago. A lot has happened. The little laptop just can't do that anymore.
Too old I guess
The problem is that the adobe flash player has to be updated but to do that I have to update the netframework again
Adobe flash player can no longer be updated. It has been discontinued for more than a month now. Everything that has to do with Adobe Flash player no longer works.
And on an older version? The laptop has been in the basement for 10 years.
Depending on the situation, YouTube is still running, I use Firefox on an old XP.
It doesn't work for me how did you manage it?
The videos just don't load for me
Maybe the hardware is too t or the memory is too little?
The message appears: the video can't be played on your browser
I would install a Linux distro as the operating system on this laptop. For example Bodhi Linux. This only requires 1/3 as much system resources as Windows XP. Here is the download of the ISO:
https://sourceforge.net/...o/download
Then burn these with this tool http://www.freeisoburner.com/ on a blank DVD or, if you can boot from USB, write https://unetbootin.github.io/ on an empty FAT32 formatted USB stick with this tool.
Then boot the DVD or the stick. Just follow the instructions of the wizard. One should also select the third party software option. As an installation option one then simply selects "Erase hard drive and install Bodhi Linux". A restart takes place after the installation is complete. Wait until the desktop appears. Midori is there as a web browser. It's modern, more resource-efficient and faster than Firefox. It can display YouTube without any problems.
Bodhi Linux goes wild on such an old system. Windows XP, on the other hand, is a lame duck. There are different desktop themes for Bodhi Linux. Even if you use a desktop theme with transparency effects, only about 3% more system resources are required. Here are some screenshots:
Boar thanks I wished for something that was definitely very helpful
